As human beings, most of us long for a soul mate, or a romantic partner with whom we can share our lives.

When people think of a “soul mate” in connection with dating and marriage, it usually implies some kind of deep spiritual, or even mystical element to the relationship.

This is true, we can and do meet people that we have known before, in our past lives, and when we meet there is often an uncanny familiarity to them, a sense of ease, or even a strong attraction that can be felt immediately.

This is the stuff of poetry, of love songs, as we seek that “magical” meeting of “the one” who is the “yin to our yang”, or our perfect, divinely appointed partner.

Your soul mate knows your soul, which means that the mirror they hold up for you is a powerful one and will force you to discover dimensions of yourself that you never knew existed.

In fact, I often tell people that one of the most powerful spiritual paths you can choose in life that will help you evolve and grow spiritually is to be in a committed soul mate partnership.

Soul mate reunions are about raising the vibration of the planet, being in service to humanity, which comes by way of exploring your own spiritual nature.

And so, what you are seeking when you are looking for a soul mate is to find your own soul, as that is how your soul mate will recognize you.
