How Can I Recognize My Soul Mate?

How can we recognize our soul mate or know that they are someone we have been connected to before, in a past life? Now, we have many different soul mates, of many different types. They aren’t just romantic partners. They also show up as children, friends, parents, co-workers, and other loved ones. These are people that we have known before; in a past life. So, what qualities do these people have? And how will we recognize them?

The first way you can know if someone is a soul mate or someone you have been connected to before, in a past life is that upon meeting them, they seem familiar. I hear people say, “I felt like I knew them somehow”, or have even asked them if they had met somewhere before. But there is something that seems familiar about them, and that might just be on an energetic level. Or, maybe you have seen them before in a dream. I often hear of soul mates that have reported seeing each other in a dream years before they met. So they seem familiar somehow.

Another way you might recognize someone who might be a soul mate is through the eyes. They say that the eyes are the “windows to the soul”, and when you look into someone’s eyes, and not only do they feel familiar, but you feel really drawn to that person, it may mean that they are a soul mate. I have heard stories of people describing a moment, maybe even after dating for several months, where they noticed the other person’s eyes and what was behind them and knew it was a soul mate. So, the eyes will reflect that “soul energy” inside a person, which is how we recognize our soul mate. Our soul mate might look different than they did in a past life, but their energy and their soul remains the same. And so, by looking into their eyes, you can actually tap into that soul energy in a person and recognize a soul mate.

Another way that you can find that soul energy inside another person that might resonate with you upon meeting a soul mate again is in the sound of their voice. There might be something that sounds familiar about their voice. I don’t know how it works, but the eyes and the voice both seem to carry that resonance of the inner self, or the soul. Maybe it has something to do with not being visual, but rather reliant on our other senses, but there is something about the voice., I have heard people say that they heard someone speak across a crowded room and just had to find the speaker because the voice resonated with them so much. So, the voice is another way that you might recognize a soul mate.

A fourth way is that they have things in common with you that are above and beyond the usual amount of random things that someone might have in common. I also have heard it described that soul mates before meeting might seem to have almost lived parallel lives. That they almost had run into each other many, many times before they actually did meet. For example, I have heard of soul mates that have lived in the same place, only at different times, o. Or, soul mates that worked at the same office building but didn’t know it. So, there will be a trail of breadcrumbs that will lead to your soul mate, particularly an intense soul mate.

One of my soul mates, who is not a romantic partner, but is one of my best friends, was born in a town that is only a few miles away from where I went to high school, so we both lived there, only at different times in our lives. That is very common. Although you might have hobbies and such in common, generally speaking, soul mates tend to have similar life purposes, particularly intense soul mate connections, such as romantic partners. They might have certain causes that they are drawn to or believe in, or have professions that overlap or are complementary in some way. So, if you have an unusual amount of things in common with someone and have a conversation that can feel like ping pong as you are trading life stories, then that might be a sign that you have a past life story with that person from before.

So, the gift in this life for us is that we have many, many soul mates that are around us at all times. They are people that are called our “soul family” even, meaning that we travel through lifetimes with the same group of soul mates. And, meeting them is a gift. And it happens all the time. So, people who come to saying that they are waiting to meet their soul mate or meet “the one”, I urge them to look around and notice all of the soul mates that are around them in their life already. So, the various ways that we can recognize our soul mates gives us a chance to appreciate them.
